Actually the reason it's "color" in America is because Daniel Webster ( I think it was) was the first to write an American English dictionary. He spelled things differently so America could be more independant and unique. So it wasn't just another Britain, basically.

color is american english while colour is english english.... while both have the same meaning, syllable, and spoken much pretty the same, the only differ in spelling. i'd say it's color for me like jv2k said, it's one letter short than the other one. and besides this is the word i always used since the time i leared english language...

it's easy, the english language originated from england thus making colour the correct spelling no matter what any of you other people say.
besides it's a kinda stupid questions cause it's like asking which word is correct between "hello" and "bonjour". It just depends on the contry you're in (cause there are more americans on this board "color" would obviously win in this case).

I like Colour. I looks fancier. What looks better a mini cooper or a strech limo. Longer things are just better. They are both right depending on which country your from. Anyways he is a scientific formula to help prove my 'correct-ness' here:
color<colour
And there you have it.
color<colour
And there you have it.
