Theredbaron : (06 February 2012 - 04:11 AM) Life, tiss full of FARK YOU! Moments.
Warlock : (05 February 2012 - 09:20 AM) LOL :D
Theredbaron : (05 February 2012 - 02:57 AM) Haha, that is the same for me, cept with newegg. :) I checked both stores, cause they are both "good" ones, but newegg was always cheaper for what I wanted, Also, hen I ordered my case it said it would be a week or so to get here, got here in 2 days.
Warlock : (04 February 2012 - 01:27 PM) I'm a Tiger fan but only because when ever I've looked for stuff, Tiger always had what I needed and usually cheaper than NewEgg. I even get great delivery time with Tiger. A lot faster than what's stated! :D
Theredbaron : (03 February 2012 - 07:07 PM) I ended up getting one that tiger didn't have, so :P to tiger.
Theredbaron : (03 February 2012 - 07:07 PM) No where near. Tiger is nothing compared to Newegg. When I built my computer, they only had like, 20 vid cards. Newegg had over 100.
Warlock : (03 February 2012 - 11:05 AM) Tiger and NewEgg are roughly the same. Same selection, same prices. LOL
Theredbaron : (02 February 2012 - 03:59 PM) Eh, more of a newegg man myself. Fark tiger. They have shitty selection.
Warlock : (02 February 2012 - 10:37 AM) Check places like Tiger Direct! :D They always have some great deals going on.
Theredbaron : (01 February 2012 - 08:43 PM) Last I checked they were up 20-30 plus. But I haven't checked in a bit. Not since about a week or two after the big floods.
Warlock : (01 February 2012 - 08:52 AM) I haven't seen much change in prices. I've seen a bunch go down. :D
Theredbaron : (31 January 2012 - 05:26 PM) The bad thing is that now all the prices are going up. DAMN YOU GOD! YOUR FLOODS MAKE ME SPEND MORE!
Warlock : (31 January 2012 - 11:02 AM) LOL :D
Theredbaron : (30 January 2012 - 05:07 PM) You sir, are an arse. Need me a new drive, or 10.
Warlock : (30 January 2012 - 12:43 PM) You asked for it - 128MB Lexar Jump Drive, 2GB Kingston DataTraveler, 4GB PNY Optima SDHC (Digital Camera), 32GB Class 10 Adata SDHC (Camcorder), 8GB SanDisk Micro SDHC (my DS), 2GB Micro SD (wife/daughter's DS), 32GB Transcend SDHC Class 10 (Wii - DML), two 2GB Kodak SD, four 2GB SanDisk SD, 4GB Micro SDHC (Wii). All those 2GB SD cards I had for my Rock Band 3 DLC until I was able to emulate the NAND! :D
Theredbaron : (29 January 2012 - 02:49 PM) Lol, yes. O, just remembered more. I also have a 4gb nano g1 and a 4gb nano g2

well I am planning on building myself a new pc by around fall but plan on getting parts little by little along the way. thinking about get a motherboard and processor from newegg since they have some pretty good combo deals but know little to nothing about motherboards (as to what is good and what is bad etc.) planning on the processor being an i5 (perfect for me as I play some games but not enough where I really need an i7). saw a couple of bundles on newegg and wonder if you guys can tell me which is is better.

http://www.newegg.com/Store/ComboDeals.asp...Us-Motherboards

one bundle is: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDet...st=Combo.330687
Intel Core i5-750 2.66GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor - Retail
BIOSTAR T5 XE ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
for $319.98

another is: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDet...st=Combo.330688
Intel Core i5-750 2.66GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor - Retail
EVGA P55 LE 123-LF-E653-KR LGA1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
for $339.98

another is: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDet...st=Combo.332712
GIGABYTE GA-H55M-UD2H Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
Intel Core i5-650 3.2GHz LGA 1156 73W Dual-Core Desktop Processor - Retail
for $286.98

if those aren't good then look at the link provided above and let me know if you see any you like I am pretty much budgetting myself for $320 for cpu+motherboard but if the $339.98 one is a good deal I am willing to stretch a little but if i can get a good one for under $320 that would be great too.

btw I was planning on doing it next year but sped things up because tried to play Last Remnant for PC and my CPU ussage jumped to 99-100% so it slows down like crazy figure will need a better computer and my computer is agoing to be 4 years in october so I might as well do it this year.

Ok, it's going to take
a while to study this
so bear with Naru.

The higher the GHz the better,
regardless of how many cores.
Unless your going to overclock.
Then, higher Ghz is still better.

Don't get less than 3.2GHz.
You'll probably be stuck at
dual core.
Last time Naru checked, a quad processor
at 3.2Ghz was $900.

Now to study your items.

well one of the combos i listed was for a Intel Core i5 3.2GHz and motherboard (listed in first post the 3rd combo) for $286.98 could rhe motherboard it combos with be a bad motherboard?

I dont think i need a quad at 3.2GHz anyways that would be way too much for me personally i think a dual core i5 would work fine. like i said I dont need it to be a real serious gaming machine just one to play some games once in a while. the computer I have is just an AMD64 3800+ single core so an i5 at about 3GHz would be a huge enough improvement and shouldnt have any problems considering Last Remnant is probably the highest end game I probably will play and the recommended requirements for the game is:

* CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo (2.4 GHz) / AMD Athlon X2 (2.4 GHz)

* RAM: 2GB

* HDD: 15GB of free space

* Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 8800 VRAM 512

That's a MICRO ATX.
It's small.
For Home Theater PC's.

ok noticed an i5 quad that looks to be a good deal but considering the price I think something isn't right so take a look and let me know if both processor and mobo are good or decent:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDet...st=Combo.332519

considering the motherboard is so cheap Im thing its probably not even decent. but like i said i know little to nothing about motherboards.

If you could put the actual page
links to each individual item,
it would help tremendously.

Naru is having some trouble locating
all these.

Motherboard seems pretty "average".
Not bad, not great.

This is another
MICRO ATX.
They are for Home Theater set ups.
Small box.
Last PC Naru built was one of these.
They function the same as any PC,
You just have a small box.
Some desktop cases will accommodate
Micro ATX, some won't.

Best one
from your list.
You will still need
a good video card.
You knew that already though.

You should actually purchase the Motherboard
and processor chip last.
So you can test it, when you get it.
Have all the hard drives and RAM
and disc burners first.

I say stay away from that. If you intend to play games, you will want to have at least 1 PCIE at 16x, 2 is better so you can double up the vid cards as an upgrade.. That has a 16x slot, but it is powered at 4x, so eh. Can't do as good.

So, as a simple rule, I say have 2 PCIe slots at 16x, that doesn't go less the 8x power each with both filled, 2 PCIe 1x, and a PCI slot. Have 4 slot ddr3, 16gb min dual channel mem. Audio and video, depends on if you have vid or sound card, they are better, but cheaper inbuilt. I wouldn't get any motherboard that doesn't have at least that.

As for a CPU, yeah, for the moment faster GHZ is better, but in a year or 2 I would bet a 2.4ghz quadcore will KILL even a 4ghz CPU. Right now, the different cores aren't used often, so it is like just a 2.4ghz processor, but once things are optimized, hell yeah. That one you pick is a good choice, I believe.

someone at work told me I should probably wait till this summer because Intel Retail Edge program (which i am a part of from work) is bringing back their Big Deal this summer which I the one that finished was i7 quad core (this one: http://ark.intel.com....ec-codes=SLBJG) and this motherboard: http://www.intel.com/products/desktop/moth...WG-overview.htm plus a 160GB INtel Solid State Drive for $500 all I need to do is do a bunch of learnings, quizzes, and stuff to earn enough points. So I will actually wait for that deal to come around again.

although the deals change everytime I remember both the big deals that were in 2009 were both for i7 processors so I am pretty sure next will will involve another i7 Processor

I must say, I LOVE that mobo and CPU. Great choice. If you can get, very nice.
