Ok, so I have a liteon drive, and I already got me a Via sata card. I wanted to know what else I need to hack it. Is is possible to get the key without anything, or do I have to get the decrypter? Can I make do with the USB one? Cause I don't have a serial port.

I am looking at you sex. Don't think anybody else is all that into hacking modern systems.

Ah, yes, got one of the new 360's? I built a ghetto serial extractor from some random parts I had, but if you don't have a serial port you'll have to buy an official extractor. something along the lines of this http://www.modsupplier.com/catalog/360-usb...ctor-p-304.html

Ha, yeah, Wii's are the easiest hack since the PSP. With a game and a mem card, you are good to go. Though, with some firmwares, the psp doesn't even need a game, just a mem card.

yea ive hacked my wii and psp and ps2. kinda of wanna hack my 360 but I actually like playing online with it (considering all the games i have are fighters and shooters (both fps and third person shooters) so im not so sure

yep, all the time. In fact I've had more burnt games on live than i have had original discs. And I've saved myself enough money to justify the risk of losing a 360 to a ban. I think it's playing games before they're released, whether you take them on live or not, that is the biggest red flag recently. But, who knows, just because I haven't been banned yet doesn't mean I'm immune.

So, can I get this Divineo one? It doesn't have the power, but can't I just use the 360 to power the drive? I got paid today, and wanted to get this going, but not sure if I can use the divineo one, and I would prefer to do that, cause of the price.

Should work, but, be VERY VERY VERY careful when using the 360 to power the drive, If you plug the power adapter in upside down, which is possible even though it's keyed, you will FRY your drive. Dead, done, gone. It's really easy to do too, because you have to flip the drive over to access the serial point. Gives off some good smoke effect too. I've also heard rumor that M$ can detect when you're 360 is running without a drive and possibly ban you for it in the future, I powered mine through the 360 and haven't had any issues though, so who knows.

What would be the point of running it without a drive? Inless it is modded, can you do anything? Well, I guess the demos and downloaded crap.

You're running it without a drive while your modding it, ie: you've got the sata cable connected to your computer and turning the 360 on and off, and/or unplugging the power cord while modding. The 360 knows it too because the power led starts flashing when you unplug the drive.

Being offline doesn't help you at all, even when you're playing a burnt game. The console does it's checks offline stores the results and uploads whatever data it finds whenever it next connects to live from what i understand.
