So anyway, I'm getting Rom-Source a new ROM server. At first it'll be just a small thing, 90 GB of bandwidth, but once this becomes a problem, I can easily go as high as 10 TB a month. I will completely support this side of the Rom-Source community, and will not need (But will probably ask for) donations to keep it running.

What this server will be:
  • ROM server
  • Upload space for trusted members
  • Possibly Rom-Source related sub-sites (Such as the old Manga-Source, irc.Rom-source.com, etc)
  • A hosting place for my side projects (Coming Soon, Jody's site, web design portfolio, McQuarrie)
  • Streaming Rom-Source radio (Maybe)
  • Open to suggestions


What this server will not be:
  • Ragnarok Server (Sorry guys, the people I'm going with won't allow this, and it would cost too much to get a remote server that would)
  • Competitor (No matter what, no sub-sites will be allowed to have forums)
  • Random image dump (A few images too large for Photobucket or Imageshack are okay, but I want this to be something that will generally benifit everyone at Rom-Source, and sorry, your pictures probably won't)


As you can see, I'll be using it for my own projects, so I'm leaning more towards something like FalconiLTD or CPU-Designs (A la my other web name). I'd like to have something that ties it all in, rather than just seeming tacked onto Rom-Source. However, Rom-Source is a great place, so I'm not entirely opposed to the idea.

For the actual site (www.whateva.xxx) I'll probaly just redirect to rom-source.gba-source.com, or maybe have a portal page with links to the real Rom-Source, the download page, the FTP server, and all the other neato things.

ATTN: Flea, Cricket -- I'll need your help in this, as well. For the downloads, I want them to only be accessed via the forum download section, and I want to use the Gil system again. I can't impliment this myself (I also wouldn't know how).
