Theredbaron : (10 February 2012 - 08:52 PM) Birthday coming up soon. Hope someone gives me a Vita. If not, at least a Pi or 2. both would be awesome. If I get the pi I will make a case, with batteries, and use it as a bluetooth mp3 player. :)
Warlock : (09 February 2012 - 11:45 AM) ROFLMMFAO@Theredbaron! :D

Warlock : (06 February 2012 - 09:07 PM) This will be my new toy this Saturday - http://www.bestbuy.c...6&skuId=2769576
Theredbaron : (06 February 2012 - 04:11 AM) Life, tiss full of FARK YOU! Moments.
Warlock : (05 February 2012 - 09:20 AM) LOL :D
Theredbaron : (05 February 2012 - 02:57 AM) Haha, that is the same for me, cept with newegg. :) I checked both stores, cause they are both "good" ones, but newegg was always cheaper for what I wanted, Also, hen I ordered my case it said it would be a week or so to get here, got here in 2 days.
Warlock : (04 February 2012 - 01:27 PM) I'm a Tiger fan but only because when ever I've looked for stuff, Tiger always had what I needed and usually cheaper than NewEgg. I even get great delivery time with Tiger. A lot faster than what's stated! :D
Theredbaron : (03 February 2012 - 07:07 PM) I ended up getting one that tiger didn't have, so :P to tiger.
Theredbaron : (03 February 2012 - 07:07 PM) No where near. Tiger is nothing compared to Newegg. When I built my computer, they only had like, 20 vid cards. Newegg had over 100.
Warlock : (03 February 2012 - 11:05 AM) Tiger and NewEgg are roughly the same. Same selection, same prices. LOL
Theredbaron : (02 February 2012 - 03:59 PM) Eh, more of a newegg man myself. Fark tiger. They have shitty selection.
Warlock : (02 February 2012 - 10:37 AM) Check places like Tiger Direct! :D They always have some great deals going on.
Theredbaron : (01 February 2012 - 08:43 PM) Last I checked they were up 20-30 plus. But I haven't checked in a bit. Not since about a week or two after the big floods.
Warlock : (01 February 2012 - 08:52 AM) I haven't seen much change in prices. I've seen a bunch go down. :D
Theredbaron : (31 January 2012 - 05:26 PM) The bad thing is that now all the prices are going up. DAMN YOU GOD! YOUR FLOODS MAKE ME SPEND MORE!
Warlock : (31 January 2012 - 11:02 AM) LOL :D
Theredbaron : (30 January 2012 - 05:07 PM) You sir, are an arse. Need me a new drive, or 10.
Warlock : (30 January 2012 - 12:43 PM) You asked for it - 128MB Lexar Jump Drive, 2GB Kingston DataTraveler, 4GB PNY Optima SDHC (Digital Camera), 32GB Class 10 Adata SDHC (Camcorder), 8GB SanDisk Micro SDHC (my DS), 2GB Micro SD (wife/daughter's DS), 32GB Transcend SDHC Class 10 (Wii - DML), two 2GB Kodak SD, four 2GB SanDisk SD, 4GB Micro SDHC (Wii). All those 2GB SD cards I had for my Rock Band 3 DLC until I was able to emulate the NAND! :D
Theredbaron : (29 January 2012 - 02:49 PM) Lol, yes. O, just remembered more. I also have a 4gb nano g1 and a 4gb nano g2

Lately I came across an idea.
What if we'd do some kind of review section in Rom Source? I mean a special forum where you could post your reviews on backup devices, tools and other stuff for the GBA or NDS. After all we are Rom Source. So I think a place were you could write reviews about Rom backup devices would be a good idea. Of course I'd also write some reviews like for my Flash2Advance, GBA Movie Player, Max Media Launcher and DSTT I'm getting soon.

What do you think of this idea?

It would even get me out of the Spam forums =D

That sounds like a good idea. If only to get you out of the spam section. But make it reviews and help.

I would maybe be the first step to make newbies stay at this site for other reasons then
"where is da donwlod secion"
We need something that are NOT Roms that attract newbies to stay.

How about meaningful conversation? That is why I stayed.

Yeah. But then this site should be called "Conversation Source" and not "Rom Source".

I think the idea should only really be considered once we see a flow of reviews coming in. It's a pointless thing to do if no one will contribute. The issue at the moment is whether there are enough people who will do so.

OK. Just an idea. BTW: GBATemp.net has such a review forum, too (I think).

Cool?

it does yes. Initially it was used by members for game reviews but after a period of inactivity the staff decided to review flash carts etc. which is what it's pretty much used for nowadays.

That's what I wanted. No game reviews. Other stuff related to ROMs. And we need some kind of lock so that newbies won't spam in there. Maybe a read only forum and reviews have to be PMed to moderators first (so they can do spell check etc. and then post it there). Just some ideas. I got my DSTT. I'll write something about it.

Make it so RPG Hacker,
Make it so.
Naru has a few gadgets himself.
You make the first review so
Naru can copy your style.

Also Naru believes The Flea
has a lot of game gadgets and
cool shit too. There should be some
good tech advice with a number
of the Romsource members.

I can just make it so that you have to be elite in order to post, and even then you can only start new topics.

OK. I'll work on it then. But that would still be my first review. So I only have some experience from reading other reviews. Never wrote one.

Well can anyone give me a start help? Should I get pictures first? Should I collect some facts before I start writing it?

Pictures are helpful.
However make the review of
the devices/games solely your own.
We can get other users experiences
and opinions elsewhere.
Let's keep this Romsource community.

That wasn't what I meant. I WILL do the review completly by myself. But I don't know how to start it.

it's hard to give advice (especially since I've only done two or three myself) but I found that coming up with a structure and sticking with it helped alot when constructing my reviews.

Introduction - on what the game is and how you play it (i.e. what the aim of the game is)

Main section - where you comment on whether the game functions appropriately (i.e. gameplay, graphics and sound + anything else you can think of... like the story?)

Conclusion - summarising your review

Whilst this review I did is one that doesn't strictly follow the guideline I just mentioned I feel it's a suitable example for you to see what you think are good/bad features (e.g. some poor grammar) that you can take into consideration when writing up your own one.
