Hey all,
The topic of additional administrators has come up a number of times; So here I am to actually make a topic regarding the proposal. The site is currently maintained by three administrators, these of course being the Flea, Cricket and Panda respectively. These admin are very busy people and sometimes find difficulty to visit the site often. It has been discussed in other topics to promote some of the older members to an administration position to help with governing of the website. The forerunners being Lazlo (Grand Funk Master of All Get-Out), Judza and myself. These members are or have been members of staff, including holding a position as an administrator (Grand Funk Master of All Get-Out and myself).
Currently we have not yet received any reply regarding the proposal from the Flea. And I would like to gather a general consensus of the RSGBAS community.

Most definitely. It feels like things only admins can do haven't been getting done around here lately, which is a pain for everyone.

Don't you want to hang out and waste your life with us?"

Naru wonders precisely what things aren't getting done?
Every time there's more administrators, someone bitches
about there being too many. Do these topics keep coming
up because nobody has any better things to talk about?

I say we abbreviate Grand Funk Master of all Get-Out.
GFMoaGO. It's phonetic enough.
As for the adminniness, I suppose it would help to have an active admin. I vote for the black guy.

Sorry for the slight absence (damn downloading of Orange box is using up too much of my monthly allowance).
As for the idea, hell as Laz said "I may be biased, but I like it a lot".
Either way, the site has 3 admin currently, but Rom-source hasn't had much progress made in the way of fine tuning what's working, and fixing what's not (which is gradually rising every now and then). If either Cric, Panda or Flea only promote one person that's fine, since it's their prerogative. I'm not all together worried personally, but if I'm promoted, I would like to have at least 1, if not both Laz and Lenz along with me (for moral support, and for assistance in working out all the kinks that need to be worked out).
As for previous staffing experience or whatever, I was an admin over at good ole' "negative-1", Kef's old site (back before the major overhauls).
As for Naru's issue/idea, it's the rather laissez nature of what's going on currently (the mentality of "Leaving alone, and letting it run its course", basically, unless it's of major functioning concern, forget about changing/fixing/altering).
It's not that nothing is getting done, I'm sure the 3 admins are maintaining the site at it's current status. But it's the fact that all we have is a functioning forum, with the arcade.
However, we've lost a lot in the rom section (downloads aren't working, I've tested them for the sake of argument), army system is down, IBmarket is linked, but is also not functioning. The RPG is functioning, but broken, and to top it all off, there's been no real updates for months on end (current IPB is 2.3.3 as of Nov 5th). Whether or not that update provides more functionality is beside the point. Usually we're quite prompt with the updates in the board, but it seems that we've fallen behind for whatever the reason.
My point being is, that we NEED more admins, NOT a replacement of the current ones, since this is quite a workload to commit to. Not to mention, that when we joined up, it was the time when admins were aplenty, and it became a nightmare further down the track, as moderators and admins were multiplying like Gremlins in the Pacific Ocean.
Hence the reason I'm all for a small addition of new admins to the current roster, but don't really mind if that addition is 1, 2, or 3 new admins. Hell, it could be more if desired, that's at the behest of the current administration.
But either way, I'm all for the proposal, and not just because of my name on the list, but because the site does need maintenance, and we gotta tread carefully with this, hence the proposal, and not just an outright request of admin rights because of some stupid "majority are doing it, so let's all do it" desire.
PS. I wasn't commenting at that time Lenz, since it was bloody 6:00AM in the morning over here (hence the lack of input till now). I'm on my Uni holidays now, I'm a late riser because of it.

I'm down with that. I can see any one, or all, of you become admins; you're all great guys. You've got all I can give, my vote and support, now it's up to the current admins to decide.
I still think we should take over the world....but that's just my opinion.

Yeah I don't want any of the current admin demoted, we've usually had an issue of too many members with adminship, but I don't think that it was too big of a problem since a lot was accomplished. The current issue is that we don't have enough.
P.S. What happened to the pretty skins?
EDIT
Yay for board upgrades =D

You guys are all capable leaders and very active on the boards. This might be just what the board needs to help it along the direction towards progress. Anyways, if i said any more i'd just be repeating what everyone else has said, so i'll just co-sign.

I simply decided to give Global Moderators access to the ACP. That should sort out any issues. I'll promote my dummy account to a global mod and check out what functionality they can get in the ACP, and if isn't enough, then I'll promote someone to Admin.
