[Edit: Okay, I seriously need to stop posting here when not fully awake because I totally stuck this in the wrong forum (it's not literary art, lol, just literary) and now can't find the delete post button... Is there even one? Oh man, I must look like a complete tard. >.<]



I'll put a spoiler warning here, but IMO if you care about spoilers at this point you should have freakin' read the book sooner.





Since I'm in Japan now, I don't keep on top of things like I used to but I just found out today that some of my suspicions were confirmed regarding Dumbledore. Lost? Check out this link. On Oct 20th, JKR revealed that Dumbledore was *beep* and had a thing going with Grindelwald, the powerful dark wizard he defeated pre-Voldemort's rise. When I found this out, it made me laugh because the entire time I read the 7th book I totally saw Dumbledore/Grindelwald undertones and just knew that I wasn't imagining things. XD

Sorry if no one cares about this, but I figured I'd mention it since a lot of people have said they've read HP (or maybe that's just spammers in the Does Anyone... Read Books? thread) lol.

Yeah I heard about that too, it's not in a book by Rowling announced it somewhere.

She's scrambling for publicity (I've said this on a few other forums that announced it, so I can't be bothered rehashing it here, but I'll surmise it).

Basically:
- She's angry because she doesn't have the whole "I know the secrets of the books, X amount of books to go etc."
- Now that the books are over, she has to make statements that retcon her already printed works (I don't care if you could infer it from the books, it's not black and white, and it's ambiguous for a reason - Fans can debate it for as long as they like)
- All of a sudden, she's releasing another Harry Potter book (an encyclopedia if you will, even though she said she wasn't writing anymore Harry Potter books).
- In other words, she's not happy even though she's one of the richest women in England ("Money can't buy you happiness").

Whether or not you agree with me is your opinion, but I'm right and that's that.

Actually, Judza, I agree with you completely (...almost). Those are all really valid points, (especially on retconning, which JKR is particularly guilty of doing!) The only thing I have to contradict is that she's stated previously that the seventh book would be her last, but that she would publish an encyclopedia of her boxes and boxes of notes that she's got holed up. So I don't consider that "all of a sudden," but otherwise, yes, I agree that she doesn't appear to be happy... Especially since she's suing the HP Lexicon, which she has always shown support for in the past. O_O

Actually JKR is the richest woman in England and Daniel Ratcliffe was the richest minor (if he's still under 18)
