Any one here have any experience with Chankast? I have been trying to play PSO and I can't see anything in game. I heard that it works, so I was just wondering if anyone could help me. If I turn on wireframe I can see the stuff, but it is wireframe.

I tried the game before, but IIRC, I had problems with the code thing (you needed 2 of them to play the game), I only had one working...

I have the codes. I can get to the gameplay, but the game will just show a black or gray screen.

Chankast has no online support. Therefore the codes aren't needed if you're going to play offline. I hope this solves your issue. If you want to play PSO online, use a dreamcast, or find the windows version.

No, I can get to the offline game in wireframe, but if I turn wireframe off it is a blank screen.

hmm, odd, check the rendering settings. Personally, I haven't used chankast, as I have a DC, but that's usually where that falls into play, especially since the wireframe mode is working fine. textures and rendering settings, is there sound at all?

The sounds is good too. I am going to try Dragon riders of pern and see if it is my emulator that is messed up.

Odd, I don't think I ever needed to enter a code when playing offline, either in PSO or PSOv2. *shrugs* goes to show how much I care I guess... In any case, trb, how goes your 3d rendering problem?

post all your settings as I download it and check it out.
Also post your PC video card and drivers.
Oh right, and the version of Chankast you're using (as Alpha .25 is now out)

EDIT: Seems Chankast pitches a fit over PSO anyway, use the capcom hack setting, and if that doesn't work, scrap it.

I have Chankast alpha .25. I have tried all the diffrent video settings and cable settings with te capcom hack on and off. I have a NVIDIA GeForce 5500 with driver version 7.7.7.2.

Yeah, uhm, you're a bit behind on your graphics drivers... it's up to 93.71... (check nvidia) other than that I couldn't tell ya, besides that apparently PSO and Chankast mix like an irishman at an AA meeting.

Yea, I noticed that. But when I updated it became 5.6.7.3.

BTW I got it to run, slowly, on demul-0.1 as long as I didn't try to edit anything in the emulator. That would cause it to reset. Still, it does work.

... exactly where are you looking to get those numbers... as in my driver settings it clearly states 93.81 (I'm using the beta over 93.71)

There's no extra periods, and no other minor revisions...

In My Computer's property's, onder hardware click Device Manager. Click Display adapters and Doubleclick Nvidia Geforc. Go to the Driver tab. Under Driver Version.

right-click desktop, properties, last tab, advanced button, nvidia tab, THEN check the version (near the bottom if you use classic interface)

Maybe I shouldn't have used windows self updater. It no longer has an nvida tab. Crap! I just looked and my nvida icon is no longer in my toolbar!

heh, just go to nvidia and update from there. I haven't seen a difference from the official release to the beta, so there shouldn't be a problem updating.
