Okay so maybe the game came out a while ago, but I just recently bought it with a 360 and I must say I'm not a big fan of shooters but this game kicks major *beep*!

Gears of War is one of only two games that I have, the other being Halo 2, and before it came out I thought it was going to be a better looking version of Brute Force (Which sucked incredibly). However, it's probably one of the best third person shooters ever to grace any console. My only complaint is that the Locust don't make much of an effort to get out of harm's way if their body is exposed to gunfire, which kinda brings down the tactical fun of it.

In the room right before the final boss, there is a torque bow located on the right side of the room. That will probably be your best bet at beating him since the explosion causes the darkness bats to fly away from the leader. I believe the grenades all have the same effect. I would take the machine gun as the second weapon unless you're a good shot with the sniper rilfe. Anyway, stick behind the very last line of defense and use the torque bow to get rid of the bats, and if you can, use another torque bow shot at the leader's head while the bats are away (Powered-up version, preferably). Else, just switch to your other weapon and pop him with that. Grenading him would help when he starts to move closer to you, but if you can get an accurate grenade off at him when he's further back, that would be better since you could use more torque shots to inflict damage. If you're lucky, those bat things will come at you without you doing anything, which again, means more torque shots to the head.
I have never used any guides or cheats on this, so there's probably a better way to kill him, but I don't have much problem with him unless it's on the hardest difficulty.

Not a big fan of shooters to be honest, I played GoW for a few minutes and it seemed alright. Kinda sucks that you can't have more than 2 people playing, though I do hate splitting up the screen into 4 tiny squares like Halo...Anyways, I'm more of a fighter than FPS/TPS fan...

I honestly dont see what's so good about this game. I haven't played the multiplayer much so I guess I don't have the full experience, but the single player was pretty average. The story didn't make much sense and didn't seem to go anywhere interesting, and the enemies were a tad unrealistic, as if they were just generic barabaric zombies/aliens/etc.
