I'm using MAME32 v0.59 to run all my arcade goodness. I know it's old, but the last time I updated I had to DL all my roms again, as this version didn't accept the ones I had.
I'd like to update, but I definitely don't want to go through that hassle again. So my Q: do you still have to update the romsets, and if so, is there any way to do it yourself?

I'm not sure what anyone's smoking here, but all the ROM files are all exactly the same. Same content, same extension, Tron has been the exact same file since what, 1998 when it was first pulled? I've been using MAME since it was in it's teens (version-wise), and I've had the same ROM files since. So, you should be just fine. Definitely upgrade to the mose current versions. They've added so many games, made so many fixes and options, it's great stuff!
